Hedwidge Surette and Ronald Gaudet to face sex abuse charges, Notre-Dame, N.B.

Sexual assault charges have been laid against a couple from Notre-Dame, N.B. in connection with incidents that occurred at an unlicensed residential daycare operated by the couple.
On June 20, 2013, 63-year-old Hedwidge Surette and 64-year-old Ronald Gaudet were jointly charged in Moncton Provincial Court with sexual interference, sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, sexual assault by more than one accused against a single victim, and forcible confinement.
Southeast District RCMP started their investigation after receiving a complaint about incidents that are alleged to have occurred approximately 10 years ago. The charges are in connection with incidents alleged to have occurred at the couple’s home which was used as a childcare facility. It’s alleged the offences happened during the day when the daycare was operating.
As of late last week the daycare is no longer looking after children.
RCMP are continuing their investigation and are interested in speaking to others who may have had children attend the daycare or adults, who attended the daycare as children.
